Apple has released an important security (Apple update) for iPhones and iPads on Thursday to address newly identified security vulnerabilities in the system software.

The security issue came to light through the efforts of researchers at the University of Toronto’s Citizen Lab, who revealed that this software flaw was actively being exploited to distribute commercial spyware known as Pegasus, which is developed and sold by the Israeli company NSO Group.
It’s important to note that Pegasus is a high-cost tool typically employed to target dissidents, journalists, and political opponents. Therefore, everyday users are unlikely to be directly impacted. Nevertheless, Citizen Lab strongly recommends that all users should promptly update their devices to ensure their security. Apple update
